2024 CI Lottery Christmas jackpot rises to £350,000

The 2024 Channel Islands (CI) Lottery draw will take place in Guernsey on Thursday 19th December and with sales rising the first prize is now £350,000.

The traditional draw game has been complemented this year by a new instant prize only game entitled Christmas Extravaganza.

Jon Taylor, Senior Lottery Officer for States Trading Group, which operates the Lottery in Guernsey said:  “The Extravaganza Christmas scratchcard game is almost sold out and has proved extremely popular. Sales of the traditional £2 tickets for the main lottery are slightly down on last year, but we are confident we will close in on the £500,000 first prize mark in the final few weeks before the draw.”

The lottery draw is being held in Guernsey this year at the Island FM studios on Thursday 19th December. As well as the bumper jackpot, there will be 66 other prizes, from £500 to £50,000.

Jack Hobbs, Lottery Manager for Guernsey Post said:

“The new Extravaganza game has proved very popular, which is great news for the many worthy causes across the Channel Islands that benefit from all of the Lottery games. In 2023 alone it raised £2.5 million in the Channel Islands for charities some of which provide essential health and wellbeing services to our community.”

All the proceeds from the Christmas Lottery are distributed to worthy causes throughout the Channel Islands by the Social Investment Fund in Guernsey, and by the Jersey Community Foundation and Association of Jersey Charities in Jersey.

The Dean of Guernsey and Chair of the Social Investment Fund, The Very Reverend Tim Barker, said:

“The Christmas Lottery games help many essential charities with funding. I encourage registered charities across the Channel Islands to consider applying for funding in 2025, as we are keen to support a broad range of worthy causes.”
